Faith’s Council met on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. Our devotion was based on one of Paul’s letters to the Corinthians talking about jealousy and quarreling among them. This was then related to today where diversity becomes division. Valuing “our” leaders becomes reviling “their” leaders and standing up for “our” cause leads us to put down ‘their” cause. We need to be open to how we fit together and be respectful of how we disagree about goals or methods.

Along with our regular business items, the Council discussed a few other topics.

Finance: trying to catch up on a few expenses in the budget such as snow removal and facility maintenance; discussion on whether or not to reinstitute passing offering plates.

Stewardship: We will begin working to identify ministry priorities for 2024 in the next few months.

Solar panel discussion: have explored needs for roof repair in conjunction with the project and awaiting bids on solar proposals before sharing information

Strategic planning: discussed what makes a SMART goal; work will continue through the summer
