The 30th Annual Saint Paul Area Synodical Women’s Convention was held in early May in Hastings. Faith members Gwen Hansen and Dorothy Grandstrand attended. We connected with other congregational representatives from area churches to worship, study, celebrate, sing and discuss problems and successes!

We collected ‘in kind gifts’ for Camp Noah, a Lutheran Social Services ministry that brings hope and healing to communities  impacted by disaster. Our gifts included craft kits and fleece blankets for victims of flooding around our area and anywhere in the US.   Camp Noah has responded to 300 communities in 29 states and Puerto Rico involving 1,400 kids and 4,000 volunteers.

Anticipating our Triennial Convention in Minneapolis in 2018, 2,500 women have registered. Human trafficking is being highlighted and our synod will continue to pursue this in our cluster meetings and local groups leading up to the gathering.

Presiding Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America Elizabeth Eaten will present at the convention. Faith member Nancy Mollner will attend and hear our National Lutheran Church Choir.
