Faith Ministry Stories

Caring for others

Posted by Joyce Getchell on

A perk of working in a church is witnessing acts of caring and discipleship of Faith members in our community.  When the Old Testament Prophet Micah told his people how to practice faith, he told them to “Do justice and love mercy” (Micah 6:8).

Faith members Nancy Mollner and Sue Phillips practice justice by advocating for refugees through Lutheran Social Services.  "Refugee Services offers hope and a helping hand to refugees as they start anew in Minnesota. After years of fleeing persecution and waiting in refugee camps, LSS Refugee Services helps individuals and families rebuild their lives."

We are honored to be recognized in the LSS Refugee Services Spring 2018 newsletter.  See page 5!  The next time you see Nancy or Sue (if you don't know them, they are in the photo wearing red) consider encouraging them in their acts of justice, or volunteer to assist outfitting the next family who needs our care and love.
